The live experience of seeing and hearing Madonna seems to have increased the functional connectivity of my brain in a way that made it possible for me to experience joy again. Maybe hearing live music tapped into my evolutionary biology and the reward circuitry of my NAcc and right auditory cortex somehow?I doubt if that would do it for me, but I am neither depressive nor much of a Madonna fan.

My impression was that Madonna's appeal had a lot more to do with evolutionary biology than with music.
